Not one of those books with a “killer” story , but Im reading it. Only becoz.. the book is not too thick that I can finish it in a day.

I bought this during a book sale ( coz Im a fan of Bargain haha).

My Book review :

The story’s about Henry Chester. A wealthy guy who found the 9 year old Effie and marries her eventually ..

That’s it.

Interesting huh?.. ( Nahh, too lazy to write ) but it was all good, seriously. Its a story of a young girl, who finds herself wakin up in the hypocrisy of her husband. Thinkin he was the Puritan that he claims to be. I love the goth-iiish, Victorian feel of the setting. The only thing I hate about this book was that it was totally engaging at first. The middle part was rocky and there are times when I get bored. And the end part was lame. Well not really lame. But almost-lame. Coz Im still very intrigued of what happened to the rest of the characters . So there, Joanne Harris (author of the book) gave me a little torture at that , got me wondrin’  to the very end.

Okey.. so right now Im writing to .. RANT .. -_-

Well, people.. You have to understand that I just got off from work on a Monday shift . And typically, when its Monday.. the office sucksss like hell and I also feel like Im workin with a bunch of evils.. ( That was ofcourse today, tomorrow would be less evil I think. Ha ha )

For some reason , I am so annoyed today and I just wanna whine.. * so with your loving patience dear , just let me whine .. and whine some more .. coz  I just need to get this off my chest and I promise to move on, fer realz.

* Im sleepy.. It took extreme hard work and self motivation to drag my self out from bed when I was  THAT sleepy… :/

* It  rained so hard when I was on my way to work..  and it took me  forever to get a cab.

* My hair was stubborn as ever. Its goin on every directions… ( and my hair seems to like em’ tangled, sheesh )

* The guy who took my bag in the counter was cranky… ( dude’s like goin on a  PMS )

* The staff  in the Mini stop was soooo slow ( the only time I need em’ to be in a hurry ) Couldnt give me an exchange, until I said “Nahh forget about it”..

* I suddenly got dumb in English?? ( countless “bulol” moments )

* I was dead serious with my work and some people are way too annoying behind my back.. ( sweet.. I honestly wish I could “mute” em all together .. and I honestly wish Im the type who knows how to bitch out. * I had a secret dream of yelling at people and not get into trouble for that, but I know I cant do that in real life coz Im way too nice..  hmp*kiddin aside*

* I am asking REAL questions the first time I was taking calls. And all Im getting from my mentors are FUNNY answers.. (… and I stood there thinkin ” Mmmkay?? HA HA .. Greaaat.. Thanks for the answers.. helped me a lot..  )

* My bag was unusually heavy.. yays

* Im sleeeeeepy .. cannot sleeeep. -_-

*I wish its all weekend when I get to spend an entire day with my boyfriend and just watch a movie and forget the whole world!

* Atleast my nails are cute.. I just painted them.. and some dude in our office, confused over my nail paint design asked ” So, what design is that” I answered ” Abstract” coz I honestly dont know .. I just think theyre pretty..

Well, this is actually just one of the hundreds of blog and video responses to the UCLA student’s infamous “Asian’s in the Library” youtube video. I personally think that video was very inappropriate , specially that it turned viral shortly after the Japan’s tsunami disaster . For those of you who got no idea of what the video is all about, she was actually trying to make a humorous video rant about Asian’s having no manners, talking aloud over the phone, inside the library , while she’s busy with her finals.

Well, if she’s really that annoyed , thats understandable, but post something like that in Youtube and attacking Asian’s in general is .. offensive. Well, there’s freedom of speech and there’s stupid-racist speech, and I think she did the latter with flying colors. She even referenced Japan’s tsunami, mocked about asian’s talking over the phone with their loved ones, blew it off like it was just a minor thing. I mean, I dont hate her really, but the video was completely inappropriate.
The video unfortunately, made a huge backlash on her, she received death threats and got her personal information published in public. A serious backfire.. I feel sorry for her..

An apology letter she made in UCLA’s online news source , the Daily Bruins :

In an attempt to produce a humorous YouTube video, I have offended the UCLA community and the entire Asian culture. I am truly sorry for the hurtful words I said and the pain it caused to anyone who watched the video. Especially in the wake of the ongoing disaster in Japan, I would do anything to take back my insensitive words. I could write apology letters all day and night, but I know they wouldn’t erase the video from your memory, nor would they act to reverse my inappropriate action.

I made a mistake. My mistake, however, has lead to the harassment of my family, the publishing of my personal information, death threats, and being ostracized from an entire community. Accordingly, for personal safety reasons, I have chosen to no longer attend classes at UCLA.
