Get Gorgeous Tea no. 1

Posted in Beauty on November 1st, 2011 by Joan Mae – 3 Comments

Wooow.. *Long time no blog!* Haha.,for some reason, i got so excited to write again..
Oh well, its been crazy at work lately so thought of giving myself a lil-nourishing, ha!. You know when you work on a night shift, you experience all kinds of “unhealthy”..

Lately I realized how bad my diet was. Although I hardly get ill, I dont feel too healthy either. Then for a week, I started getting into a strict diet of veggies, fruits and fish, and that kinda helped me a lot. And since I also want to accomplish healthy complexion, I researched on organic ways to improve my skin. My skin gets a lil finicky sometimes, like I get breakouts occasionally that goes away on its own, but you know how it is when you have pimples it gets really annoying. I have already been advised to go on facial sessions and take pills, if I really wanna clear my skin , but Im not a huge fan of conventional treatment. I always opt for the natural.

Then I got my eye on this tea I found in Healthy Options is SM Megamall, Get Gorgeous Tea no. 1, which has antioxidant rooibos as its main . ingredient, and some flavorful herbs, such as orange peel and hibiscus flowers, that are beneficial to getting clear complexion.

Let me tell you more about it:
The taste - Subtly sweet, and earthy. I take 3 cups of this daily while Im at work and its fruity scent it truly relaxing.
The ingredients – Rooibos (leaf), Orange (peel), Hibiscus (flower), Chamomile (flower), Red Clover (flower) Chaste Berry (fruit), Burdock (root), Natural Pomegranate Flavor.
The result : I dunno?? hahahaha. :P I have yet to discover it if its really making any difference. But according to our friends in US who have been drinking it , it works wonders on their skin. Hmm I think  the first 2 days of drinkin I felt my skin being more hydrated and supple, but I’ll get you posted for any progress lols.
Price: a lil pricey for 36 bags in a can, Php 575.00 at any Healthy Options stores.

The real deal here is you can actually use this as an addition to your daily skin regimen but you cant just rely on the tea to achieve a clear complexion. Having a healthy lifestyle is ofcourse the surest way to achieve that beautiful skin.

Getting rid of pimples using Honey in 4 days or less

Posted in Beauty, Fashion, Personal on February 12th, 2011 by Joan Mae – 2 Comments

Last week, I had a major battle against pimples ( again) Ive been workin on a project last week, and that involves exposing my face to some chemicals, coz I havent had this problem in awhile, they grew all a sudden and I got to a point where I dont wanna go out in the house anymore coz the red marks are all over my face and theyre like crying for attention.

I tried putting an overnight-pimple solution to the spots ( Not the entire skin ), I also had to wash my face often using facial scrubs and drink lots of water, it worked for a while, but I think I over applied it, or I think the medication was too harsh, the skin around the pimples turned red and dry. So that didnt really do me any good, it worsen the problem. They got inflammed. -_-

So I did a research about natural pimple cure coz my face is a little bit sensitive, the more I use over the counter medications , the more I noticed my skin being prone to break outs, so I tried resorting to natural remedy.

I found out that Honey is an effective cure. I mean pure honey.. or atleast the ones you buy in groceries.

Day 1 - I washed my face with lemon mixed with lukewarm water.. After 3 minutes or so. I washed it off again and placed Honey all over my face, like a mask.. Let it stay for 20 mins or somethin, then wash it off. I didnt let it stay over night coz I dont want it messin my bed sheets.

Day 2 - scrubbed my face with oatmeal paste ( it acts as a natural cleanser ) Then followed it with Honey mask , this time I added milk into it. It’ll give you a paste like texture. So I let it stay again for couple of minutes.

So I did this for like 4 days..

Now the good part was that, the inflammed part was gone, the red marks are gone. The pimples have dried out completely, but the remedy  wasnt too harsh on my skin.  Honey is also a good moisturizer, it’ll leave your skin supple . So yea.. Im totally recommending Honey for pimple cure. :)

Thanks to these nasty red bumps, I went from feeling confident to self-concious. Oh well, I guess everybody does. Dont you just love it when you wake up one day and saw that grrrooosss red zit right in the middle of your nose ( not to mention that it has that yellow icky stuff inside ) Ha! Its not just a zit sister, its a HUGE zit!

And the reason why Im writing this its coz I have a pimple in my right cheek . I remember how hard life was when they used to be Everyyyywhere, all overr my face!

Ive had my own fight.. geez.. It was a war.. like literally. Its not only aggravating to have pimples, its costly as well. You buy loads of scrubs, facial wash, acne ointment and all that stuff you see in the drugstore that really wont do anything. Ive tried so many brands and it didnt help. It took a year for me to get rid of my pimples and now I have less, well, I still have them once in awhile but unlike before they appear from time to time like my face was cursed.

What worked for me :
1. Get a lot of sleep!
2. Dont stuff ur face with too much product – I realized the more product you use, the more sensitive your skin will be, the more prone it is to have breakouts.
3. Use non comedogenic products – I thought I only hear this on ads, but seriously , it worked, use water based products. ( these are products that wont clog your pores and are not too harsh , they worked well on my skin)
4. Dont use too much scrub!-This is one of my greatest mistake, I had an obsessive urge to scrub my face everyday, I use a lot of scrub, and I think Ive tried all brands. But its a NO-NO so yea dont do it.
5. Dont ever sleep with your make up on ( Never ever do this sin to your skin if you dont wanna wake up lookin hey-ugly the next day )
5. Moisturizeeee…
6. Drink water .. ( a lot! )
7. Again.. SLEEP!

Products I leaned on :
*Panoxyl
*Cetaphil or Neutrogena Acne wash
*Clean and Clear Toner
*Ponds Night cream
* Celeteque Moisturizer
